That's My Ska
|||||Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe by Streetlight Manifesto||]|
Just noticed nobody has posted to this community in a while. Just thought I'd spout out some random thoughts on things to get this ball rolling again.
First off: Big D and the Kids Table, Strictly Rude. Wow. One of theee greatest albums ever. It had a big old yellow sticker on the front that claimed it as "Alternative Press's pick as most important ska album of the new millenium!" While I may slightly agree with what was said, I disagree with who said it. AP? Really? What do they care about ska? Once I see them ditch Panic! At The Disco in favor of Big D for the cover photo, then I will be more convinced. Until then, keep your scenester nose out of it.
Secondly: Streetlight Manifesto's Somewhere In The Between.....enough fucking said. Wow. This album blew my fat ass away. In my opinion, it tops the accomplishment of even Strictly Rude. Streetlight has developed a sound that is incomparable to any other band of this generation. Their sound is so unique, so different, so perfectly...Streetlight, they deserve a hell of a lot more credit then they are getting.
Just some thoughts for you guys. Please let me know what you think. I dont get to talk about enough ska!!!!
